Our Evening Walk

Hello! I thought I’d just post a few photos from our evening walk!

We decided to walk up to the woods at the top of our road as the weather this evening was lovely! I love that just a 5 minute walk away we have a huge, beautiful woodland to explore. Once you get to the top of the hill the views are amazing – they’re definitely worth it, especially when the sun is setting. Ole and I decided to have a race to the top (the whole 145m up!) – he carried Jax and still beat me haha… operation time to get fit Jeorgia!!

Jax was so fascinated by everything; stopping every few steps because he’d heard a bird, or found a stone he thought was worth picking up, or because he’d found a stick that was an interesting shape. It’s amazing how every little thing in life is just so wondrous to him. Every time he heard a plane go by, he’d put his hand to his ear, gasp, and point to the sky in wonder.

After admiring the view we decided to carry on walking. Shortly after, we came to a shelter – obviously made by a human – in the upturned roots of an old tree. Straight away Ole and I were getting a bit too over-excited (all for Jax ;)) asking Jax who he thinks might live there. He was a bit apprehensive to begin with but with a bit of parent-ly coaxing he ventured in! We decided that maybe the Gruffalo lives there (we know he lives in a cave but the Gruffalo might have more than one house…) and once we’d conferred with Jax, he was roaring and trying to say Gruffalo haha. He then started to say ‘tiger’ and ‘yion’, so I guess he changed his mind about the Gruffalo residing there!

After that, Ole put Jax on his shoulders and we all raced down the steep hill, through the crunchy autumn leaves – there were sooo many – kicking and throwing them into the air. A bit further on, we saw a couple of parakeets which were a gorgeous green and blue colour, and a squirrel – which Jax loved watching climb all the way to the top of a tree. We played hide and seek behind the really big trees and Jax thought it was hilarious.

Here’s some more photos, because I love photos haha;
